Web Abstract
Brief description of the proposal for the website' of 150 words with up to two supporting images with captions
The keen interest of Government of India to set up high speed trains in India warrants scientific and technical studies on the various aspects, like steels for track, wheel, axles, elastic clips, etc., as well better design to suit to the desired specification. It is the need of the hour to look at these issues on an emergency basis. We are intended to study the development of multi-phase containing bainite, ferrite, pearlite, retained austenite and martensite in different combination, and nano-pearlitic steels possessing number of desired mechanical properties for high speed train tracks as well as elastic rail clips with desired strength, fracture toughness with adequate corrosion and wear resistance to meet the harsh Indian weather. In addition, the design aspects of the rail clips will be looked at to suit to the higher load bearing capacity of the track.
