Results and outcome till date

Following are the progress in this IMPRINT Project No. 4402 till now.
a. A MOU has been signed with a company M/s. Dezaview Skill Learning and Training System Pvt. Ltd. for designing and developing Web Portal for Web Hosting of the educational video that will be prepared at IIT Delhi in this IMPRINT project.
b. Concept design of the appropriate web portal for hosting the video and other related content has been completed.
c. Three one day Workshop has been organized, 10 Jan 2018, 200 participants, 12 June 2018, 210 participants, and 12 March 2019, 290 participants. In the first two workshop lectures of experts on Fabrication and Characterization Facilities were arranged and all the proceeding were recorded for the feedback and assessing the effectiveness of the contents for the training/learning Video. In the third Workshop lecture presentation and discussion on the Characterization Facilities were addressed. These workshops were organized to finalize the contents for the Videos. Feedbacks from the Workshops were analyzed to finalize the content for the training/learning Video on these Facilities.
d. Four Video films of 25-30 min. on E-Beam Lithography, E-Beam Deposition, Atomic Force Microscopy and Raman and PL Characterization Facilities have been completed. Each Video consists of introduction to the facility, basic principle of operation, followed by the actual demonstration of the use of the facility. It also includes list of Frequently Asked Question FAQ.
e. To test the effectiveness of these Video a focused Workshop is organized and improvement in the presentation of Video has been completed. Animation of some process has also been added.
f. Uploading and testing of these Video on the Web Portal is in process.
g. Video Shooting of four more Video on Maskless Lithography, Mask Aligner and Sputtering Technique and SEM and EDAX is completed. Editing of these Videos and adding animation is in progress.

Societal benefit and impact anticipated

In view of the great potentiality of Nanotechnology in impacting the future growth of technology, several universities/institutes in India have started courses/ training programs for undergraduate/post graduate students. By and large the students are very enthusiastic for enrolling in these courses. However, quiet often lack of appropriate resources, faculty, laboratory or mismatch of class schedules hamper the cause of disseminating the knowledge. The learning and training module that we are developing in this project will be helpful to bridge this gap. These modules will be run on web platform so that it can be accessed through internet/mobile phone at the convenience of the students/researchers.
Beneficiary Sector:
1. Many institutes/universities who are offering courses on nanotechnology.
2. Scientists/Engineers in laboratories and industries for receiving training on the use of equipments /instruments for nanotechnology.

Next steps

Work to be carried out in the extension period and its significance
a. Completion of Web Portable and its testing, Sept 2019
b. Offline testing of effectiveness of four Video in a focused Workshop, Oct 2019
c. Completion of FAQ and Self test for four learning/ training Videos, Nov 2019
d. Completion of animation and editing of next five Videos on Maskless Lithography, Mask Aligner, Sputtering System, Thermal Evaporation System and Scanning Electron Microscope of EDAX, Nov 2019
e. Online testing of four Videos in a field tried outside of IIT Delhi in two different Workshop which will be organized in other academic institutes, Dec 2019
f. Field testing of web portable through organization of two Workshops outside of IIT Delhi, Jan and Feb 2020
g. Collection of feedback and improvement of the system/error correction, March 2020
h. Field trial and launching the web portal, April 2020
i. Wider dissemination of Video through Industrial help, July 2020

Publications and reports

The project is related with the development of learning/training video modules on Fabrication/ Characterization techniques so no publication in Journal is expected. However, reports after field testing of the videos will be prepared and submitted.

Patents

Copyright of the videoes and its licensing will be created.

Challenges faced

The animation and editing of the Videos took more time than what we anticipated. Due to this only four Videos could be fully completed whereas the work of editing and animation of six more Videos is still in progress. Thus, to achieve the objective of the project no cost extension for one year is requested.
